2nd Newsletter – Boosting Digital Innovation and Sustainable Practices in Tourism SMEs

The COSME project TourINN-act aims to promote digitalization and innovation among tourism SMEs through transnational cooperation and financial support. The project helps companies in the tourism industry overcome the challenges posed by the COVID-19 crisis by adopting digital and sustainable solutions.
TOURINN-ACT WILL LAUNCH AN OPEN CALL TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO TOURISM SMEs.

According to the need analysis carried out by TourINN-Act partners, the lack of digital tools and financial support were the main issues addressed by tourism SMEs that prevented them from keeping their businesses on track.
TourINN-Act is getting prepared for the Open Call for Tourism SMEs during the 2nd PM in Athens

On January 17th and 18th, TourINN-Act brought together its team of 6 European Organizations in the 2nd in-person transnational project meeting organized by KiNNO (www.kinno.eu) in Athens, Greece to intensively work on the TourINN-Act Open Call for accommodation units and travel intermediaries from Romania, Greece, Italy, Spain and Cyprus. During the Project Meeting, important aspects for the project activities were discussed among the Project Partners and planned for the following period.
A CATALOGUE OF DIGITAL SOLUTIONS AND SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES WITH THE AIM OF HELPING TOURISM SMES

UNWTO (World Tourism Organisation) sets out 5 pillars that can help SMEs develop their strategy, and thus become priorities in the tourism sector. These are established in a post-pandemic framework and have as preference the anticipation, innovation and digitisation.
Tourism Innovation Actions and cross-sectoral cooperation in SMEs

TourINN-act project investigates how digital innovation and sustainable practices can help companies in the tourism industry to face and overcome the Covid-19 crisis, starting from cross-sectoral cooperation between SMEs, technological partners & other stakeholders.
